    WHW Meister: Those are great postcards. I have been gathering post cards for many years because I use them for research and as illustrations, since they are nearly always in the public domaine. Anyway, the number 1960 on the postcard of Graf Ferdinand von Zeppelin is simply the publisher's catalog number. Here is an example found on a postcard of SMS Odin from the period 1893-96. If you look in the lower left corner you will see the publisher's logo and the number 9903. Dwight

    Thanks for that Dwight, I was sure it couldn't have been a 1969 card. According to the front of this postkarte, (I think) it shows a French ship picking up a French seaplane?
