Hi you have a great collection...

All we know is that, at times, fighting the Russians, we had to remove the piles of enemy bodies from before our trenches, so as to get a clear field of fire against new waves of assault.

You have some nice medal bars, with some nice variation. My favourite is your Schwarzburg bar, a not particularly common award.

You need to reverse the order of the König Gratz 1866 and Kreigsmünze 1870.

I have several Imperial EK bars to Em's, which may look somewhat like repeats,
but I can share them here soon, if anyone is interested.........

I agree! I want to see all that anyone has to share and maybe some might be inspired to start collecting these. Afterall collecting is a cancer that can never be curred and only spreads to other areas. Lee

    Here we go.........

The fact that there was a recession going on at the time is reflected in the rather low quality
of some of these medals and bars. There are much more elaborate enameled medals
for officers, and some of these are truly stunning. I have never been able to afford
those types, and never concentrated on them when I could !

I'm surprised that some of these Imperial Medal Bars can still be had
    for reasonable prices today.........

There were regulations regarding the 'order of precedence' for wearing these medal bars,
but they weren't strictly adhered to until 1934, if I remember correctly - Steve, you would
know the particulars of this - so bars will be found 'out of order' at times !

Note the two small 'Friedrich August Medal' ribbon bars which are 'out of precedence',
and display the Iron Cross in the third position, and thus were not supposed to be
    worn after regulations were enforced.......

The Wurttemberg medal bar directly below is also 'incorrect', as the Long Service Medal
and the Hindenburg Cross should be transposed.
