From the one picture I'm not sure just where to put the sword. It's not a regulation pattern that I'm familiar with, and 'in hand' I would be looking at the markings for clues. (I have a few experimental/trials swords from before the adoption of the M 1852 which is why I would like to see if it has the same kinds of markings.) Also the dimensions, as they look a little off, also having some different construction characteristics.
I have some references in a couple of places (some are in storage) that may shed some light. But with just the picture to go on, my guess at the moment is (most likely) Solingen manufactured for export or one of the smaller states. Best Regards, FP
