My sabre

Hi there!

I found this sabre in an old abandoned farm in Germany.
I have no idea what kind it is and which period it belongs to.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi Orang..the sword appears to be an officers sword from the Imperial period. It also is stripped down to the bone as nothing is left of the grip and gilding is completely gone. Blde is in Bad shape..and deeply rusted. It almost has the characteristics of a Luftwaffe Generals sword from the 1930s...but it is not this type of sword. Some of the Imperial Sword collectors will be along shortly..and give you a detailed answer what this sword once was. Regards Larry

It looks late 18th or early 19th century to me, its similar to a British officers 1796 pattern dress sword.

No of course it isnt, but that need not be original to the sword. In any case I am not an expert, just making a general observation as to the style of the sword.

the pas d´ane broken along not across???
the pas d´ane intact has not a very bad way junction with the quillon???
the blade of the sword and pommel is the same piece???

Not sure that is a wellding mark!
I think it is a original "dent" to the item, that needs to fit into the scabbard.
