I believe the helmet itself is original but I am not sure about the plate being original to the helmet.
The photos no not show a cross brass base for the spike or a squared brim.
-
some good points mate..i do like the look of it but youre right about them points
-
It would be a rare helmet if it was any good!
But thise one isn't.
It is brand new.
Finition is bad at all, points.
The form of the helmet all ready reveals it, it looks like a bowler hat.
Sorry !
-
Forgot to mention it is no East Asian helmet but a police or custom haube with that front plate and cross spike base.
And like i said a rare helmet.
cheers

Excellent thanks mate, i didnt buy it,it just didnt feel right so i left it....so how do they age these, they do a good job..im a little weary on one i bought last year from Belgium, Stuka..its a mint Bavarian nco, looks great but if they can make copies like this one..it might be dodgy
-
Any picture of the Bavarian haube?
Aging can be done in all different ways.
Soak it in thee over night and it will all ready give you a different appearence, to the linner.
Egg white and dirt of the vacuum cleaner is a other trick, one could use for the out side.

bboywizard, Kris nailed it................I agree with his comments.....it appears to be one of the modern fake doctored jobs, probably coming out of Germany, some of these modern replicas are good, that good some ones going to get burnt !
Prost ! Steve.

We just recently had another one of these strange brand new but aged fake spike helmets here. It, too, had the weirdly crude cut and stitching on the edges of the visors. Someone is making these things and doing a bang up job on aging them...
