Prussian dress sword

Article about: I am a WW1 virgin, so would like your thoughts on this one. I have seen it for sale, and the guard is damaged. Having said that, for \\$100 I still think it is a nice item to hang on the wall.

I am a WW1 virgin, so would like your thoughts on this one. I have seen it for sale, and the guard is damaged. Having said that, for $100 I still think it is a nice item to hang on the wall. I would guess it to be Prussian late 19th Century. Any thoughts appreciated.

Al, an outstanding bargain (despite the damage) at $100 ! it is an Officers M1889 Degan, pre 1906 type.......as it has two scabbard rings, after 1906 they usually only had one. Well done on such a find, at that bargain price ! Thanks for showing.
    Prost ! Steve.

    Thanks Steve,
Hopefully it is on its way now. I just fell in love with the blade design as soon as I saw it. Do I treat it the same as a dagger, and only lightly clean and then use a preservative like Renaisance Wax on it?
