First clean it all the rough rust. Then weigh it.....
There may be markings on the inside, if the rust hasn’t destroyed it.
The example that is held in the Australian War Memorial weighs two kilograms. From what I have been able to find they were between 4-5 mm in thickness. The following post may be able to provide you with some more information.

Stirnpanzer - real?

Greg, I was having a quick look at Vol 3 of the late Michael Baldwin’s fantastic series of books titled Feldzug and there are a few pages dedicated to the stirnpanzer. Apparently they made about 1 per 4 helmets and it’s estimated that there were roughly 50,000 units made.
Perhaps an oxalic acid bath might turn up some stampings.
