Wish I could help but this one is way out of
my comfort zone.
I like what I see and I hope it turns out to be
good but You really need Adler or Oradour to look
at it.

I was addicted to the "Hokey-Pokey" but I've turned
myself around.
It reminds me of one of those top end copies doing the rounds. The liner looks a bit too new. I don't like the quality of the lettering in PENINSULA and WATERLOO either.
Marc........looks to be an original Officers helm, probably vulcan fibre not leather, but with that many holes in the front I doubt the wappen is original to it....and it has been added to beef up the price as it is a rarer wappen ! The Officer may well of changed regiments and therefore a change in wappen, but not that many times IMO. If my memory serves me right the spike should be removable (unscrews) for that regiment.....The voided wappen has been touched up, but I believe it to be a correct one for "Füsilier-Regt. Feldmarshchall Prinz Albrecht von Preußen (1.Hannoversches) Nr.73" garrisoned at Hannover and part of X Armee Korps.
Unless it was cheap (£500 ish) I would not bother.
Prost ! Steve.
Steve is the man.

My opinion was purely that, my own opinion. Going off what I see in the pictures I would not buy it, because I would have doubts. The condition is extremely good for a very old helmet. If I were to hold it and look at it properly, then my opinion may well be different. If it is dead right, and you can get it for the price Steve says it is worth, then it has to be an absolute bargain. You would pay £500 ish for a very good OR's Pickelhaube anyway. So to get an officers for the same price, and in that condition is the kind of item that most collector's of WW1 militaria would find difficult to refuse.
Steve.
Hi Steve,
It is not in anyway , I do not appp
riciate your comment !
On the contrary, it makes one take an extra look .
I know now there may be some issues with the helmet, and will follow the economical advice given
