I am definitely not a WB authority so this is just a very
uneducated observation. IMO the really clean condition
and the fact that it is a uncommon screwback makes me a
nervous. It might just be too good.

thanks guys. It was a bit of a gamble but a well respected collector/dealer had it in hand at the local show (he was not selling it) and said it was good. That said, that does not mean he can't be wrong. Also the dealer I did buy it from has a 100% batting average.

It is in pristine condition but there is age to it when looking at it under a scope.

But agree that it is very unique and thus demands close scrutiny.

I'm hoping for the best so anymore feedback is appreciated.

It sounds like you did your homework. It is in great condition plus I like
screwbacks. My favorite iron crosses are screwbacks.

    Congrats.

These are unusual but not unheard of...I can't find anything wrong with it, likely a privately-purchased piece...Well Done!

Greg- Well, I did get an opinion from a trusted dealer but what I don't have are examples to compare to so while I'm comfortable with it, there is always the lingering question mark. Plus I'm relying on others and not my own experience. That said, I don't see anything wrong with it so far. I personally think it is a private purchase between war piece

Chris - happy to post it. If I don't see the thread, just ping me and I will add it.
