Hey guys, well I got back from the sos last night and I had a blast, shame everyone was starting to pack early from the up and coming warning of a bad snowstorm. I only had really a good 2 hours to look through the whole show as 2pm came around everyone started packing . To cut to the chase this is my pickup, its a 1904 dated M1895 Pickelhaube. Unit Id'd to what I think is Rheinisches Train-Bataillon Nr. 8. Also it is named, but to me this is unreadable, all help would be appreciated! Been saving since december for this show, and I am happy with the payoff. I payed 450$ for the lid. The Styrofoam head was just for the photo, I am displaying it using the wooden stand pictured.
    Thanks
    Ryan

Thanks! Yea thats what a few others and I suspected. Some pointed out possibly original hardware but repro leather.

    You did well
It is nicely marked and still has all its liner tabs and drawstring.

    Nice pickup.

Well done Ryan you should be proud of it. I left back to the hotel about that time as most dealers was packing up by 2pm and I have been there since Thursday.
The drive back to Missouri today was bad with the ice covered roads.

Nice one! I'm very fond of these, but have yet to buy one myself.

Incidentally, did you make the stand from a furniture leg? That's how I made the one I use for my M42.

Eric did you leave saturday night? We got hit just north of Indianapolis on I-65 by an ice storm, after that we counted over 30 accidents not including the 4 tractor trailers that tipped over. Then the snow came just around Gary indiana which made it even worse ontop of the ice. Glad you made it safely back home though Eric!
    Thanks Again!
