Hi all again, well I got my Pickel in the mail today and took some more photos, everything looks good on it but the chinstrap is either the nicest example of a 100 yr old piece of leather I ever saw or its a repro, I tried to take some close ups if anyone wants to comment on the strap, it feels really soft and smooth but my heart will not be broken if its a copy,,,,the makers mark is really hard to see but I made out H.Muller Offenbach as the maker and a 1915 date, there are two names, the one on the front of the brim is crossed out but says Hubert Lienen? it does not match the name on the back of the visor which clearly says Hubert Lange, double named? can anyone point me in the right direction to research the name? Thank you for any help!

any comments on the chin strap? does anybody have one with a strap this nice? it doesnt smell like leather, it smells like the rest of the helmet, but its just really soft, is it possible for a 100 yr old chin strap to look that new?

I have no clue, but if it was stored right, it could possibly be the original. And congrats by the way! My Wehrmacht officers cap is on the way, cant wait!

That's a good sign, when it smells like leather, it is probably a reproduction... so be happy it smalls like the rest of the helmet...
