Added an M16 to my RW collection. This one still has the leather liner support, all three pads with pillows and a chin strap...………..added bonus for me is that it has an Oldenburg shield painted onto the side. Makes it IR16 III battalion...………..

thanks for the kind words. The field cap is also stamped and issued to IR16 and dated 1926 so was probably in use as the same time as the lid....it is issued to 1 KOMPANY so carries a Prussian cockade. I also have a service cap dated 1921 issued to JR 16 III battalion 16th MG Komp which supported the III battalion giving me a headgear "set" for this regt. cheers Tony
