Post war paint job (camo paint over pitting). Repro liner IMO

"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated
My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Although helmets were refurbished during the war, this isn't one of them... there is some quite heavy pitting underneath that fake camouflage paintwork. If you have purchased it, send it back and get a refund if you can. If you can't send it back, keep it and study it properly so that you can learn something from your bad purchase. There is hardly a collector in the world who has never made a bad purchase, the secret is to learn from it.
Cheers,
Steve
I forgot to mention... there should not be any washers fitted to the liner pins, they did not use these in WW1.

I did even believe it is a German helmet. That little "coin" reminds me of one of the foreign users had a hanger on the back of the helmet so it could be hung on equipment when not worn. Right now I can't remember who, but it was post war.
This is a very amateurish attempt at faking a WW1 camo. There are some clever ones out there, but isn't one.
Thank you very much, I let it go. Thanks for your help mates.
