Strange visor/brim on German helmet

Article about: Hi all, picked this up a few days ago, thought the visor shape looked unusual. It's a model m16 (chin strap lugs on either side of helmet). Am I right? Here is a link to pics I posted on a w

    So am I right in thinking that this was a good find then?
    I've certainly never seen this style before.
    I wonder how many were made and distributed to troops?

    Inside measurement from where liner would of been :-
    Front to back - 225mm
    Side to side - 175mm

    Outside Measurement from rear apron to front visor edge - 312mm
