Re: on these EKIs and EKIIs
Hi Chris, all look fine to me.
The EKII will be a Third Reich era produced replacement peice. WW1 Vets could purchase these.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: on these EKIs and EKIIs
The first cross pictured (ek1 w/ large backplate) I believe to be made by Otto Schickle.
These are well made one piece die struck crosses. probably from the 1920s.

Re: on these EKIs and EKIIs
Chris, Greg is correct re EK I, that is what I also believe, however the EK II is marked IMO not with a "7" but a "Z" a known mm, possibly "Zeich of Berlin", making it a good WW1 example.
Prost ! Steve.

Re: on these EKIs and EKIIs
Thanks Greg. What would a fair price be for that EKI?

Hi Steve, i thought about ''Z'' maker but the mark is very thick so i went with the ''7'' theory. My other ''Z'' marked EKs have the mark engraved with a very thin line. I will compare the frames to see if this match the ''Z'' one.

Re: on these EKIs and EKIIs
Chris, there is always confusion amongst collectors with the marking "Z" or "N" both known mm, but depending on how struck (and how looked at) and wether early, mid or late war struck, it can be concieved as either, in the eye of the beholder. My opinion is still a "Z"or an "N" but not a "7". Prost ! Steve.

Re: on these EKIs and EKIIs
I agree with Steve.
It is very very unlikely that the mark is a 7. The numbering system for crosses
was a ww2 thing. There are many examples of 1914 crosses produced in the 20's,
30's. and 40's, numbered Ek2s are seldom seen. The only ones I can remember
seeing are 4 and L10 ,L/11, L/54, L/57 with the L/11 (Deumer) being by far the
most common.
