I believe this is the earlier type cockade of Lippe...before they switched to the sew-on insignia...

I think this is just a Bavarian cockade that has had the center cloth replaced. You will notice that the piece of wool is just a misshapen scrap as opposed to the round, paper-backed piece of wool you normally see on this type of officer's cockade. My guess is that this was converted after the war for other use.
