Unkown cap

Hi,
Please can you tell me what this cap is for and a time frame as Iv'e been unable to find one like it.came with some WW! items a picklehelbe ,cover and some general items.

A complete stab in the dark, i'd guess at some sort of police cap going by the shape and colour!..

Fred....first welcome to the Imperial German forum ! your cap is sadly not of the Imperial German Army......however that is not to say it is not German from that period, Kepi shaped, Studentbund comes to mind, or civilian marching band cap....
