Steve, those makers that made only one size tend to be rarer, heres a quick list of known mm, other marks exist, but there meaning/makers are lost to time :-
Maker name/City. Maker code. Sizes produced.
Gebrueder Bing A.G., Nuernberg G.B.N 64
F.C. Bellinger, Fulda B.F. 62,64
J. & H. Kerkmann, Ahlen/Westf K. 64
Gebrueder Gnuechtel A.G., Lauter i./Sa. G. 62
Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke, Schwerte i/Westf. - N.J. N.J 62
R. Lindenberg A.G., Remscheid-Hasten "Bell" L. a.k.a. rattle logo 64
Koerting & Mathiesen, Leutsch /Leipzig K&M 66,68
Hermann Weissenburger & Co., Stuttgart-Canstatt W. 66
C. Thiel & Soehne, Luebeck T.J. 66,68
Eisenhuettenwerke Thale A.G., Thale /Harz E.T. 60-68
Siemens & Halske A.G., Siemenstadt Berlin superimposed S over H stamp 60
Eisenhuette Silesia, Paruschowitz Oberschlesien Si 62,66
F.W. Quist, Esslingen/Neckar Q 66
The most common M16/17/18 helmets tend to be the 'E.T.' mm helmets as they made all sizes, plus the only model of the super rare M18 cut-away model.
What is the marking with a bear and under that 64.

Re: what is this helmet?
cricketchris1944, I didnt include Austro-Hungarian made helmets in the list above, but the 'Bear' logo is 'Berndorfer Metal Warenfabrik A Krupp A.G.' of Berndorf, Austria. They made the M18 Hungarian, M16 Berndorfer and variants, in size 64/66.

Re: what is this helmet?
I have been looking at other Bell helmets for a few months now .
They all kind of look different from each other.
Probably cheap labor or manufacturing.
But this is the worst one I have seen.
Could this one be a reject?
