    Hi,
I have never done research on this medal which a family member brought back during the war. Is it a Knight Cross? I noticed the oak leaves and almost kicked myself for never looking at it closely before.

It's an EK2 from the First World War so I'll move it to the Imperial forum.

Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

The case looks like it may be from an Iron Cross 1st Class and likely does not belong with this 2nd Class award.

What is in the box? Of the two items, the EKII with ribbon is worth much less than the box. As noted, the box is for an EKI or Iron Cross First Class. Even if the box is empty it still has value. NH

    Adrian,
I have more pictures posted on a thread about my WW2 era EK thread. I received the WW2 era EK in this case but I do not know if they match. Here is a link to the post https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/1939-...spange-337021/

    Neil,
The box hold my WW2 era EK1. I also have another box that held one of the 2 Ek but it is very damaged.
