Hi There,
Where do I post a question about a medal that appears to be Prussian but may not even be military related?
I'm including a photo incase.
Thanks....Beadlebom

Beadlebom, welcome to the forum...anything related to Prussian, WW1 Germany era is best posted in the ' Imperial Germany & Austro-Hungary ' section of the forum. What you have there is a Prussian 25 years of loyal service medal, awarded to both military and civilians alike, war service/combat counted as double time towards gaining this award.
Thanks oradour...we have been searching for ages. A friends father was presented with it by a soldier he took prisoner in WW2. Apparently the soldier respected his captor and had that's why he presented it to him.
Do you know if there is any way to trace who might have received the medal originally?
Thanks again....Beadlebom
Beadlebom, your welcome....unless the reciepient has marked/engraved the medal himself, there is no way to trace him. Most Prussian records (held in Potsdam, i believe) were destroyed by bombing in WW2.
Thank you so much for your time. I have passed on the info to my friend who also thanks you. We very much appreciate finally knowing about the medal.
Keep up the good work....you have a great site here...
Cheers...Beadlebom
