Just picked up this ek II with odd marked ring,,,it looks like a "square",,,any one else see this weird marking before???...thanks,,Robert

Yes, it is an unattributed mark, ie: the maker is unknown,
but it has been said it is 'a mark of quality'. I have an
EKI with this stamped square...............

I agree.
These crosses are very similar to those marked CD800 but as yet
we can not connect them to Carl Dillenius. The square punch mark
can also be seen on Pilot's and observer's badges.
