Just a quick gander WW1 Ek.
Just a quick gander WW1 Ek.
Clicking on the photo will enlarge. Its an archived photo.
Looks to have been heavily cleaned/polished to the point of no return.
I see very little beading on the frame, and the core is stripped
of it's finish. Is there a shot of the reverse.........?
Regards,
Steve.
Hello Walkwolf, You are on the right path the entire piece is made of .835 silver; Thus the front is only toned and not to be stripped.
The reverse.
Another bogus piece in your collection that you've failed to do even the most basic of research on HC. As most collectors know, Germany did not declare war on France until the 3rd of August 1914 (3/8/14) yet your EK is dated the 19th of July 1914 (19/7/14).
What have you to say about that?
'I do not think we can hope for any better thing now.
We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.
Last Entry - For God's sake look after our people.'
In memory of Capt. Robert Falcon Scott, Edward Wilson, Henry Bowers, Lawrence Oates and Edgar Evans. South Pole Expedition, 30th March 1912.
I thought it was an awful early date for the Battle of the Somme! Irregular-shaped needle and odd Catch-plate caught my eye as well...
cheers, Glenn
