Yes, I have seen Floch reproductions in 1st & 2nd Class. They are of three piece construction, and with magnetic cores. . .

By comparing characteristics with known originals and known reproductions, and by talking, sharing and networking with other collectors around the world as we do here. . . After a while you develop an eye for this sort of thing, you gain some experience, but then again, even I have been fooled. That's where our peers come in to help keep us honest; with ourselves and each other. I never stop learning. If I am not sure, I ask. . .

The size is correct @ 43mm,(between 42-44mm) its construction is correct,& it looks to be marked on the suspension ring (use a jewellers spyglass) so i'd say it has everything going for it to be an original. Dont forget that millions of these medals were produced (3,803,384 to be exact), so a softness/loss of detail to the crown, oakleaves & other ornamentation evolved as dies were used to pump out the huge amounts of impressions.
