WW1 German Leather Tschako

Article about: Well I just traded for this Leather Helmet, in Great Condition, and I love the cover!!!! The photos do not show how the plate sparkles with gold!!! The leather has a white "wax" on

    Once and for all, it's NOT an MG Tschako. Could be worn by Jäger, train, communications and technical troops.
    A black and white kokarde should not be present because the state colors are already on the Feldzeichen and indicate that the Tschako was used by Prussia. A double indication of that wasn't needed of course, so... no Prussian state kokarde.

    Jäger, Train, Eisenbahn, Flieger, or Telegraphen all wore shakos, with the line eagle wappen, made of black leather. The Feldzeichen is worn on the on the front, replacing the state cockade. The national cockade is the only one worn.
    Your shako looks to be a nice piece with some interesting features. The little leather loops on the chin strap and the extra leather band around it.
