    Hello,
Can anyone tell me whether this is a WWI era (I realize its dated 1915) German Calvary sword?
If so, what is it worth in this condition (just an approximate guess would be helpful).
    Thank you in advance.

A close up of the grips, pommel, hand guard, etc. would be nice. I don't think it is German though.

Looks like a French Napoleon crest from the mid/late 1800's.
Not in the best condition - and the completely cast
brass grip is odd as well.........

    Steve.

Because of the combination of a 1915 date on the blade, the Napoleonic crest and the cast brass grip I'm wondering if this is actually an ornamental piece made to hang on the wall, rather than an authentic military sabre. The blade is presumably an original but now long separated from its original grip.

It looks a lot like this Prussian sword

Nothing like it IMO, except a slight similarity in the shape
of the guard - The Prussian sword above has a fuller
on the blade, the grip is not cast, and it's a known
pattern. There is also a huge difference in quality
    between the two.........
    Regards,

    Steve.

I get all that but that is the most similar sword I could find on the internet.
Not saying it is the same.
The guard is almost the same in shape.
