Article about: I need an opinion on this cross. I have never seen one like this one before. Could anyone give me some insight on this one? These are the only pictures I have. Is it real or fake?? Value???

    Indeed a good cross, Private Purchase...a desirable slightly vaulted Screwback 800 Silver...
    I'm sure Greg/Chopperman will be able to provide more details...

    Vaulted screw-back types seem to cost more than flat pin-back
    crosses or vaulted pin-backs. I'd guess a rough estimate
    of $350-$400.........

    Thanks Glenn and Steve. I am sure Greg will chime in on this one. It is on an auction so I posted before going deep into this.
    I also posted an 1870 also. same deal except we have an unknown reserve on that one.

    Hello John,
    These are thought to have been sold through Deutscher Offiziers Verein.
    There are a few threads on WAF about them, this thread is about the one I will post.

    I completely agree with everything that has been said.

    A very nice private purchase cross that is associated with
    the D.O.V. Steve's price estimate is right on as well.
