1918 Brass Knuckle Knife

Hello! My grandfather has a bunch of WW1/WW2 guns and weapons. One thing that caught my eye is a trench knife from 1918. He gave it to me today - guess my dad and uncle didn't want any of it. It's definitely an original. Wondering if anyone knows what type of value this might have?

What are the maker marking on the blade.

There are no markings on the actual blade at all. It does look like it has been used and sharpened, if that makes any difference. On the blade's cover, it has the same stamp as the handle: L.F.&C. 1918.

Here the deal the maker marking is very important If it has been remove there is no way to tell if it was US or French made. The French made it for the US and used it during ww1 , but the US made version not see ww1 use. So I would say 200$ to 250$. If it had the maker marking 600$

Hi Angela, welcome to the forum! Yours is a completely US made knife. An unmarked blade is conventional by this maker. Your knife was made by Landers, Frary & Clark. Now you have the correct info you can search online for values.

Hi Chris, there is an easy way to determine the maker of the blade. The French made "Au Lion" version has straight paralel sides to the ricasso. See here for more photos and prices being asked:

Great link, Ade. I have always been interested in the 1918 Trench Knife. Some fine ones there, including the best condition blackened 1918 I have ever seen.

Really nice. I just bought the 1917 version. Your knife seems to be in pretty good condition.
