Hi Guys, this odd design holster came into work today. It contained a Smith & Wesson .455 Hand Ejector Second Model revolver, circa 1915.

I have never seen this design before and don't really understand how it would close? Was it fitted to a saddle or the like???

    Cheers, Ade.

    Hi Ade,

Its a form of 'Mexican Loop' holster. Looking at picture two, lift the holster from the left and insert between the two loops. It is an open top as in western holsters! It should end up looking like the one in the picture.

    Cheers,
    Steve.

Yup...common wild west cowboy style rig. Open holster...fast draw...
