Anchor marked 18 pounder tobacco jar with eagle

Article about: WW1 18 pounder tobacco? Jar , marked with a lesser seen "anchor" head stamp 15cm / 6 inches high , weights in at a hefty 2kg , has 2 Italian 1911 coins. Lid is made from a 18 pound

    I have a few tobacco "jars" also made of shells, a couple are rather nice..no way a Soldier made them, I have always thought about how the tobacco would taste being held in brass.

    Here are 3 of mine, one is plain, one is very nice RFC and the last has Tobacco on it as well as Nov 11 1918 and La Cateu (?)

    About the same way Beer would, I imagine! lol I've always wondered too about all the shell vases...if you ever put Water in them and used them, wouldn't they eventually turn as green as the Statue of Liberty? Although, they did(and still do) use shotglasses made from shell cases, so who knows, I suppose. I've used a Stalingrad recovered shotglass for decades and no problems...
