    Here is a link to a very good read article on the Verdun Meat Grinder. To today's eyes and ears, the figures read like fiction, but it was anything but. 100 years ago today...it seems impossible that it was so long ago...

    I discovered there is no film of the battle, because one camera = 10 kgs in this time and it was hard to carry it in the mud.
    So, films are from other places, or reconstitution in 1928.

    I was fascinated with this battle ever since reading Alistair Hornes book which was unputdownable !
    Heres my tribute , some of my French WW1 collection and two sculptures I have made showing a soldier on his way to the battle and coming away from .
    Also a chest bandage I found in Normandy

    Very nice, and those statues are very-well executed sculptures!

    In my collection, I have a notebook from a person of my family.
    When I read it, I see he was often in trains to go from a place to another.
