Any one ever see this type of flight helmet

It is one of the many "Cowle" type flying/driving helmets of the early twentieth century. The manufacturer almost certainly made gentlemen's attire and such helmets would have initally been aimed at the commercial driving and flying market prior to WW1. When war broke out, there was virtually nothing in the way of officially issued flying clothing, certainly for the UK until late on (around 1917 for the first helmets and goggles to be officially issued) so aviators had to make do with whatever was available commercially.

Helmets such as these were popular with early aviators due to the obvious thermal benefits. the down side was that such designs restricted movement drastically and the need for a constant lookout was vital. It is quite common to find this style of helmet with the lower neck part cut away and cannibalised.

The helmet shown could have been worn by a WW1 pilot but it could have just as easily been worn by a driver of a motor vehicle - the gear was identical.

Value-wise, the age is no indication of value and such helmets generally fetch less than £100. More than that and you have done well although lower would be my gut instinct.

skypilot...............Thank you for the info,I have quite a few vintage helmets,but this is the first one from Sweden,notice it has the same ear flaps as the early British flight helmets and the leather piece o top like the German and Austrian helmets...........Thanks again..........Dave H
