Default British victory medal with a local connnection

Here is the newest medal in my collection. Normally I collect German items but after reading the description on this medal I felt obliged to buy it.

The reason this particular medal stood out to me, is that 100 years ago the soldier it was awarded to lived just a few houses up the street from me now.

Here is the information I found, I am missing a decent picture of his medal card index, If someone could find it I would be very grateful.

    Name: Frank John Galer
    Place of birth: Clay cross
Family: Son of William and Elizabeth Galer, of 18, Sawley Rd., Draycott, Derby.
    Place of enlistment: Nottingham
    Service number: 15666
    Rank: Lance Sergeant
Regiment and unit: 1st Bn. Grenadier Guards
    Division: Brigade 3rd (Guards) Brigade

Died of wounds: 8 May 1916, Aged 25
Grave reference: Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery VI - C - 37
