This is the British issued version in Iron. It could also be an American issued medal as well-there is no way to differentiate that I know of without the box of issue and certificates. The original Karl Goetz medal in Germany was mostly made in good cast Bronze.(Yes, they also came in Iron too, but the German originals have extremely crispy and sharp detailing to them. Note, on this specimen, the lack of clarity to the faces of the men in line, the skeleton, the Germans holding the newspaper warning, etc.)) The somewhat scarcer version of the British propaganda medal has the month of May spelled "Mai". The German originals usually-but not always-also had "K.Goetz" stamped into the edges.
