Need help identifying

Hello, I need help identifying this helmet. I have found some similar to it but now exact and cant find any information on it what so ever? I got this at an auction for $100 when they auctioned it off they said it was a ww1 French lieutenant helmet. But as I said before can't find any information on it.

It is all leather with a brass medal on the front with brass line or bar going over the top and down the neck piece. Also their are no markings or tags. None i could see or find.

Identification would be appreciated and also maybe how much it is worth. (considering its condition )

not sure about the insignia, seems to be french ??

Still not positive which country it could be from?

Also is it missing the pointy piece at the top because most that I have seen have it and this one does not?
