Need help identifying these binoculars

Article about: Hello all! I got these binoculars from my granddad a few years back, and I thought you all could help me identify them. I'm 85% sure these are WWI, but I could be wrong. The serial code read

    Hello all! I got these binoculars from my granddad a few years back, and I thought you all could help me identify them. I'm 85% sure these are WWI, but I could be wrong. The serial code reads "Serial Code E E 23800". There is also a name on it, reading "JOHN C. VOLKA CAPT. 166TH INF." I can't really read the maker stamp, but I will try reading it later in better light. Opinions are welcome!

    Capt John C Volka was the Commanding Officer of the 166th Regiments Headquarters company during WWI. My grandfather was in his company. You can see more about him in the book, Ohio in the Rainbow.
