Sketchy Ebay uniform

Found this on ebay, 85 bucks total if you include shipping. Seller lists it simply as "OLD MILITARY UNIFORM", no other information given. Decided "Hey, maybe it used to be something interesting!" and here I am asking you kind folks..

Thing looks like it's been in a musty old attic or barn for the past century or something! Please let me know what it is..









It looks like someone cut off a part in the front.. Any ideas?

I don't know it's origins but it looks like a gala dress uniform jacket with tails. usually those are black, white or navy blue

It may not be military, so you need to be looking for marks, insignia on buttons etc. The sort of thing a hotel Footman might wear.
