Very nice Jack and welcome,I havn't seen many with the drilled holes so I would say quite rare,whether this actually adds value is another matter,but well done either way.............
30 bucks for any WWI helmet has got to be a good price.

Whatever its just an opinion.
I had a quick search and the holes are commonly found on WWI helmets especially those from the 91st Div, so probbably they do not add much to its value, though the shield would as they are rare I think.

Indeed - a rare and valuable helmet with the face shield
attached, though I wouldn't put a premium on the
lid just because of the holes.........
