Sounds like my kind of room mate!
Hopefully, if the move that we have planned goes ahead, I will be able to get a lot more of my stuff out and on display, and finally get the cap badges that I have framed and hung on a wall.
The wife doesnt mind me having the badges and patches that our eldest brought back from Iraq a couple of years ago on the hallway wall, but she does object to me putting my cap badges up for some reason! Oh well, I will just keep trying to persuade her after we move.

    Regards etc

Hello-bugles were still on issue to units as late as the mid 1980s-I was a storeman in the reserve and my units q-store had one as a registered store item (serial numbered) along with binoculars, compasses etc. Of course no one in the outfit could actually play the thing!

    G'day Lithgow
Are they not on issue these days? relegated to the bandsmen(not sure of the Aussie term) only?

I'd love to know any info on the markings could it be from the WW2, HQ 22nd Aust. Infantry Brigade 2/18th?

    I reckon the "2/18" is a date stamp....February 1918
