    Hello, just got this British officers Orilux torch. As you can see, it has an interesting dedication, saying that its owner left Valparaiso (Chile) in 1914 and was killed in an Airfight in 1918. As Valparaiso was apparently a westernised enclave in Chile, this man presumably was a British expat who returned to Britain voluntarily to serve. Its a shame it dosnt actually have his full name on it. Any comments welcome. Shown here with other British officers WW1 items. Doug

    I thought it ok to add this example to your thread Douglas, WWI torch by Ediswan, sometimes called an officers torch but I have also seen at least one example called a sgt majors torch.

    It is dated 1917 and has the official serial number said to mark it as an issue item.
