Default WW1 US Pilot wings? Authentic?

This wing badge is one of about 20 that I purchased in a lot at a recent auction. Cannot find any information on it. The flame is gold tone. Overall with cloth measures about 3 3/4" by 1 1/2." Does it look to be authentic? Who would have worn this piece? Any clues would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks so much,
    Corey

Hi Cory, and welcome to the Forum. There may be
a couple of members here who can help. Myself,
I only collect USAAF and later, and I know that
    these can be a minefield.

The second one you show appears to be
    British made.........
    Regards,

    Steve.
