WWI US ID'ed Portrait Photo
Article about: Like uniforms, I have a soft spot for anything I can put a name and face to. This is from Bay State Militaria. It spoke to me and I had to have it.

Well worth a try. Last WWI vet I requested records for only returned a final pay stub. I actually had better luck reaching out to the local library/ historical society, who were able to provide me with a handful of newspaper articles detailing the soldiers service. May be worth a try for this soldier.
Another option is to contact the county recorders office as they may have info on him. Although last time I tried, I was told they couldn't be provided due to Homeland Security restrictions. Because I'm sure terrorists are using records of WWI soldiers to infiltrate the US!
If all else fails, you could go the route of a private researcher. Geoff at Golden Arrow research comes highly recommended. Sometimes his cost is comparable to copy fees at NARA.
