Guys, thanks. It is technically just another hat, but it is by one of my favorite makers, Wilhelm Wellhausen of Hannover.
Also, it is a true Jaeger (which are rare to find, as most have had an Edelweiss slapped on postwar to become Gebirgsjaeger).
Where I first saw it was in the old Moran book, which came out in 1996, and I have been on the hunt for it for years:
