I examined a similar one a decade or so ago. It was well made, but not like a real cap of the 1930s.
My first black SS officer cap was a Beinhorn. These were made in the late 1950's as I bought mine for $20.00 in 1960. They did utilize genuine insignia as they were plentiful at the time. As FB said, well made but lacking RZM label and visor stamp.

Interesting info, thanks.
Did Beinhorn retail these hats as reproduction collector pieces then?
Unfortunately, this cap will have many "defenders" on the other forum....
(especially as they have now given up defending the LAH tunic)
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
I saw this cap elsewhere and wanted to add my piece. These old fakes are of far higher quality than an Atwood cap, the latter of which are far more common in the junk heap.
The Beinhorn cap has many Bw like traits.
Our site has enough images of real black SS caps for the beginner to orient themselves.

I have a couple of 1960s Bw caps here, and I should include them. Bw=Bundeswehr.
One such example.
Very nice cap.
