Cap came in a box with a student cap, from Karlsruhe....the name: Roedelbacher.
It sports the very subtle cap badge, which will cause no end of giggles among "scull savants."
I did not remove the badge, but had archived these images of this arcane type of item.
One sees new things each day, that is for sure....

what matters to me is that the cap is a real poem, in wonderful condition and gotten from a fine, fine collector, whom I thank with enthusiasm.
and the use of black paint on the badges, too.....
Also a first for me in fifty three years of searches.
Notice the space between the inner wing edge and the Adlerkopf is metal painted black.
To say nothing of the blacked out eye "sockets...!"
apropos of nothing, notice Himmler's cap, the light colored sweat band and black interior....
