Is the faux crocodile skin sweatband commonly seen or not?

I've not seen that before either and I don't think it's the original one that the cap was made with but it looks cool!

There was one Pickelhaube manufacturer from Baden in the First War that used this type of faux-crocodile leather for its sweatbands...I wonder if its the same firm?
