Can some kind person tell me what the correct name is for the Kriegsmarine Donald Duck Hat is please.

I think it is called a Mannschaftsmütze.

Actually, in German its known as the Matrosenmütze (Sailors Cap)

You could also call this one that in German also.
But that is not the correct term for the one posted.

Well, strictly speaking, the original Bekleidungs= und Anzugs= Bestimmungen für die Kriegsmarine simply classifies them just as Blaue Mütze or Weisse Mütze.

You can also find them referred to in various books as "Tellermütze" and "Schlöffelmütze".

Many if not most terms used to describe uniform items have been adopted by collectors since the war and were not "official" terminology of the time.

Mannschaftsmütze also ignores the fact they were worn by Unteroffiziere and could describe any cap worn by a junior rank.

If you wanted to be strictly correct they should be referred to as simply "Blaue (or Weisse) Mütze" as per the original period regulations, but I very much doubt that anyone would confuse reference to a Kriegsmarine Matrosenmütze as being anything else that the "Donald Duck" that started the thread.

Thanks guys for all the info.
What I've been doing is, every time you've been throwing a new name in the pot I've been doing a google image search for the name provided to see what comes up and I've got to say at the moment "Tellermütze" is a clear winner.
