    Default Fireman's visor hat??

I recently picked up this hat at an antique shop. I believe it to be a German Fireman's hat. After a bit of Googling I could not find what the horse and wings insignia represented. The chinstrap looks like a cheap add-on. I suspect the hat to be post war. Appreciate any comments. Thanks.

Well definitely post war. The sweat shield has a 1950 date on it.

But would agree, it is a Firemans hat but have not seen this before. Sure others have.

The horse insignia is the regional insignia of Lower Saxony.

    Yes, postwar Fireman's cap.
This logo was used to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Carl Isken, but they continued to use it until at least the late 1950s.
I think it is for Hannover.

Hi G, this marking, Ges. Gesch, carried on in use after the war.

    Cheers, Ade.

We still have laws, after all.

As has been said above, a post-war fireman's cap for Lower Saxony. This type is still worn:
