    Thanks to F-B for posting these lovely originals. I just learned who the maker is behind these caps: Georg Grote of Hannover. (Unfortunately, some reprobate placed LW insignia on a lovely Heer Kav)

    Thanks so much for the additional data. Very revealing. I will have to look in the RZM Handbuch, too. All the little bits of things. Nice to know who made this very nice cap, and the additional label is quite suggestive.

    It's about 58cm. I could measure it with my cap size thing, but I cannot find it among the sixty one caps here.
