Handschar fez

Hi everyone. I was hoping to get some opinions on this fez, offered by a private seller. It looks pretty mint to me, but I thought I should get some second opinions before I shell out any cash. Thanks, cheers.

IMO it is a good period piece. I saw it offered for sale elsewhere and thought it was a good piece at a decent enough price.

A nice period original fez of the type acquired from the storerooms at Dachau

They also served as convenient containers to hold collar tabs, cuff titles and other misc. insignia.

For once a maroon colored specimen not stripped for insignia by a "collector."

It would be quite the find to uncover a Fez full of tabs and cuffs !

True but was in the 90's when faker realized the item could be bought for about 50% or more of the insignia value. There are lots of these floating around without insignia. The insignia is now attached to fake field caps. Most of this occurred in the late 90"s and later.
