Hello all,

Sebastian--welcome to the forum! Nice hat (and rare) but when are you going to start collecting the fun stuff (Political and Civil?!)
thank you Stony,
Political and civil are not realy combat items, I prefer the soldier !
Wolfty, think of it this way. Without the Reichsbahn, the W-SS and WH would literally be left standing at the station. Without the HJ, no future soldiers for the W-SS and Wehrmacht. Without the Reichspost, no one to support troop morale. Without the Bergbaudienst, no coal/electricity to run the trains, etc, etc, etc!
Damn right, stonemint! The most interesting caps (and uniforms) are among the non-combat organisations. And the small organisations like Postschutz, Teno, or the RMBO are very exciting too. My interest started on Wehrmacht and SS, but soon I got into the non-combat things.
The cap you posted is really nice (except the sweatband.. but would not disturb me). It has a very handsome shape and I love the well worn appearance. Is the visor still attached tight or did it come loose because of the sweatband?
So let us try to figure out the production details:
1. model (extra, privat, standard...)
2. date of manufacturing
There is no label-diamond left. Is the imprint still slightly visible on the cloth?
Is the sweatband made of leather or is it Ersatz-material? The decomposing of the band is typical pattern for the paper-bands, when they were stored in too clammy environment over the years.
thank you euro for your opinion,
this is a begin war cap, with a pressed paper sw, rare model for this.
a extra or private model because I have a hole under the sw for the cocade.
Sebastien.
I love those Erels. I found a chap with 2 and I took 1, should have taken both, I only wanted the Arty EM Cap the other was an Officers same as the one posted only better condition, no offence. Heres the 1 I have, the lining is very similar. This one is an Erel Standard.
cheers Robert

Lubstein caps do have very attractive interiors. Nice cap Wolfy.
